Chef’s Career
A career as a professional Chef is both fulfilling and indeed rewarding with very real opportunity for career advancement, travel abroad, and job satisfaction.
How does it Work?
“Professional” is HTN’s baseline apprenticeship offering for prospective cooks and will provide a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30813) outcome.
Anyone can apply, candidates who can demonstrate commitment and a sincere passion for cooking are selected and contracted to HTN. After extensive discussion regarding experience and career expectations, apprentices are then matched to a suitable Host within the Network. Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship, there are opportunities to train and work with a number of Host Businesses.
Support
HTN’s experienced Industry Advisors will visit you and your Host Business regularly to discuss your performance and progress, ensuring that you are receiving quality “on the job” training every step of the way. Your Industry Advisor will be available at any time to discuss your career development and assist you where possible.
NOTE: To qualify as a Chef, apprentices must successfully complete a Commercial Cookery course at a Registered Training Organisation to gain the necessary skills and knowledge required to underpin training and development. This supports the three years “on the job” training with a Host Business. After qualifying as a professional Cook, there are options for further study, including to moving into other areas such as Hospitality Management (Total Chef Executive).
HTN opens doors to some of Australia’s best kitchens.
